Toppik Review – THE TOPIC IS TOPPIK!
Toppik hair building fibers is a cosmetic treatment for bald spots and thinning hair for both men and women.
The product comes in a can and is made up of statically charged keratin protein derived from wool. Keratin is the exact same protein that human hair is made from.
Toppik is essentially powdered hair. When applied, thousands of micro keratin strands intertwine with existing hair to give a more fuller natural look.
The hair fibers are wind, rain and sweat resistant. However, it comes out easily with any shampoo in the shower.
Toppik hair building fibers are one of the best cosmetic hair loss treatments available. In this Toppik review, I will be discussing how to use the product and addressing mine and others opinion of the product.
Toppik hair building fibers are available in 9 different shades.
The shades can be mixed and matched to match almost every hair color.
I found the dark brown color matched my hair almost perfectly. There was no need for me to play around with customizing the colors. However, a girlfriend of mine uses a mix of auburn and medium brown to match her hair color.
For an application, you simply tap the can upside down onto the areas where you are experiencing thinning hair (like a salt shaker). Almost instantly you will see your hair become thicker and more full.
Another option is to use the Toppik applicator for a more accurate application (as seen in the video below). I never found the need to use the applicator. I imagine it would be useful if you had a very small area to use the product on rather than a bald spot or overall thinning.
After application of the Toppik hair building fibers, it is recommended that you use the Toppik fiber hold spray. The idea is that the fiber hold spray strengthens the bond between the fibers and the hair and adds shine. I never used the fiber hold spray and never had any issues with the product.
I absolutely love this product.
The fact that I can use the hair fibers with my other hair loss treatments (Minoxidil and Finasteride) is great.
While Toppik does not help regrow hair or stop hair loss, it is an awesome concealer while you are using other treatments.
You can also use the hair fibers with products such as hair gel or hair wax. So styling is never an issue.
I like the fact that it is so easy to apply. Just shake on my head in the morning for 2 mins.
One drawback for some people is that finding the right hair color or tone is a bit difficult. To do this, you may need to combine one or two of the shades.
Even if the color is slightly off you would have to be incredibly close to notice.
To remove Toppik hair fibers from your hair, you will need to use a regular shampoo. They do not come out with a comb, wind or rain.
